Roy: Hey Eddie, wanna join us at the driving range?
Ed: Driving what?
Roy: Golf, it’s cool!
Ed: Haha~ I don’t do sleepy old man game.

They say, one of the best thing you could have done is to surround yourself with the right type of friends as their influence over you, is going to be rather substantial.

Like how Bing Xiong were sharing with me, Golf is probably the world most misunderstood game. However once you are in it, you’ll realized how interesting the game is.

From doing your first awkward swing, engaging a professional coach for the right techniques, doing your own practices, getting your own equipments, upgrading them to form the ‘formidable’ set, then going back for more practices, to the dress code and then the first 9-hole which is also the place to see how your drills have paid off.

This is the third month that I’m in it and i guess i could say that my swing… still has room for great improvement. :)

Kudos to Roy for taking the picture and Kenix who has always been patient watching me whack the balls, shopping for the equipments and listening to those i know that didn’t make sense to her. :P

Just last week, it was the second time that I run into someone whom I have never met before who has read my blog. Which pleasantly amaze me how blogging can connect people together.

They already knew me and could even recall my goals! Which made me felt that they were my old friends just that I cannot recall who they were! Haha~

Hence this is also probably why it made me take time off for this entry. :)

2009 would probably be the most exciting and at the same time challenging year.
Exciting because everyone’s affected by the recession and for those with plans to launch their counter attack would probably emerge as one of the leader (in their respective industry) after the crisis subside.
If you were in Singapore, you would probably be very impressed with the government’s quick, swift and HUGE package aid to the country. I was one of the benefactors of the package (job credit) and am really grateful for the help.

On top of that, I have banks calling me for the third time to pick up a bank loan from with them at an incredible low interest rate (also another initiative backed by the government).

It’s always handy to have another 120k in the bank don’t you think? Oh boy… Should I, should I not…
I do have a series of plans to execute for the year but would also like to have your opinion (if there’s any taker or any reasonable seasoned entrepreneurs) who might be reading this on what will you do with this injection of funds during the crisis like this?

Edifician are the most hardworking bunch and i am just so grateful to have assembled this wonderful team.

From Sorceress to Mage Knight and to Architect, it’s almost like Lords of the Ring. Ha~ (If you know what i’m talking about). ;)

I have been using O2 Zinc for a year since and have been looking around for a phone that enables me to send/receive emails on the go. Zinc’s not too bad after equipping it with the small data plan from Starhub.

Other than it’s qwerty keyboard is… that’s little insensitive, where you have to stab it with a little bit more force or hit 3 to 4 times more for a character, freezes up once or twice every week where you unknowingly misses a few calls and the shit key which got stuck which makes you highlights everything when you uses the stylus to tap on the screen, it’s a “Fantastic” phone. =P

After a few weeks of waiting, Kenix finally got her hands on her iPhone! Man, it’s really sleek and its interface is unparalleled, with HUGE and appetizing buttons for the user to press makes it just so desirable.

I’m just so envious and hence, the quest for my phone hunt continues. Looked at Nokia E71 and always other models that have a qwerty keyboard. Until I managed to shortlist it down to the pro looking blackberry. But, alas, I just realised that my contract ends somewhere in Nov (2mths+ from now), so I guess I could only hold and wait while consoling myself that the price war will break out during the festive season or when the rest of the telcos got their hands to distribute iPhones too.

Just as I’ve convinced myself to give in to fate to just hold and wait, Kenix gave me a blue box… that reads…

BLACKBERRY

Kenix bought me this baby, Curve 8320.

Roy has been talking about how convenient the trackball is and how he as a previous touch screen PDA user, detested the touch approach. I never believed him, as theoretically, how convenient could the navigation of other phones be when I can simply navigate by touching wherever I want to!

I was wrong.

The navigation and ergonomic user interface is excellent. I can do everything in one hand. When it comes to firing out emails, it could never have been faster with this machine.

There is not any special occasion and Kenix bought me this dream gadget that I’ve always watched and longed for.

I felt that it was Kenix’s way of expressing her love by sharing what she’s experiencing.

Like a child whose playing with her toy and another comes by and watch her playing. Unselfish, she hands out the toy to the other to share the happiness.

########## Recalling sometime back ###################
I was such a fan of Muay Thai and there was this reality TV, Contender Asia where they feature some of the world’s best Muay Thai fighters and put them through an elimination match at each episode with the champion walking away with the grand prize of $250,000.

Man, I followed the match religiously and when the finals was about to be broadcasted, Kenix whipped out the tickets to go watch the finals LIVE!

* Oh my GOD!! *

I was ecstatic!

That’s the love of my life and I told her, if I could…

I’ll marry her again. ;)
